Not All Billionaires Are Equal

Today, Michael Bloomberg announced that he will be entering the race.

I have two main concerns about him at this time.

1. He created the Stop and Frisk Law in New York City. It meant that any police officer could stop anyone and frisk them at anytime. Do you want that guy to be the next President? In the United States, a person is innocent until proven guilty, unless Bloomberg is in charge. Then we are all potential criminals who can be stopped and frisked anytime or anywhere. The whole idea of turning the US into a police state where citizens are at risk of being badgered, by the police at any given moment, is far from connecting with the people of our country. Additionally, it puts the police at odds with people. It was an unjustifiable error of judgment on Bloomberg's part. It shows how out of touch he is with the people. It gives the impression that he is above it all because he knows that no cop would stop and frisk him, so he doesn't care how it affects the average citizen...or the relationship between the people and the police. It was a reckless and unAmerican law. He had no right to implement it.

The fact that Bloomberg did not say the Stop and Frisk law was wrong until last week implies lipserve rather than substance. It implies a survey said it was a sticking point with American citizens and that that was his motivation for addressing the invasive policy. It means he has no true regret and would likely do it again but this time on a larger scale.

2. Bloomberg is very heavily invested in China which means he may very well favor a China friendly policy that could hurt Americans due to his business investments in China. His Stop and Frisk policy would go over fine in China where the people have no rights, which makes one even more wary and distrustful of his actions and motives.

Trump has proven he cares about Americans and puts America First. He has followed through with his campaign promises. He has taken intelligent stances on China, IP, Huewai, ZTE and Trade in an effort to protect Americans and the economy of the United States.

Bloomberg is a globalist. He does not appear to care about putting America First. If he did, he would never have invested so recklessly in China. No one, who has invested their money in China, can get their money out of China. It's like Hotel California. You can check in but you can never leave. How strong is Bloomberg going to be on protecting the US against China when he is so heavily tied to it and has been such a strong proponent of it?

If you would like to learn more about China and how it acts with our economy, I recommend Kyle Bass of Hayman Capital as your springboard. He has a great interview with a Chinese Self-Exiled Billionaire Guo Wengui which is an excellent springboard into the fundamental problems and risks surrounding investing in China.
